Jim Sterling (Destructoid) defends himself over FFXIII review

2008 could very well be the "year of the sequel". If you take a look at the big games releasing this year, you'll notice that they're all sequels! Rarely you will find a few 'original IPs' on the release list, and who knows, maybe one day these games will have a sequel too.
Take a look at the eight most promising non-sequel games of 2008.
Dead Space (Oct 31, 360/PS3/PC)
Dead Space feels eerily similar to Aliens, but the introductory trailer and our first hands-on demonstrated a level of suspense, mood, and intensity we haven't seen in a while. The premise: the entire crew of a deep space mining ship has gone missing, and it's up to you, the sole survivor, to rid the vessel of alien baddies. It should be noted that EA's survival horror only marginally beat out Left 4 Dead (360/PC), the fast-paced Zombie Killer by Valve with a heavy focus on co-op play.

Anyway, as for myself: I'm looking forward to LittleBigPlanet, Dead Space, and Spore. I might check out Wii Fit, haha. And yeah, Too Human deserves to make the list!
No Too Human? I thought that was a pretty hyped up game. Ah well.
That being said, I wasn't expectin to see Dead Space myself >_> I've only seen a bit of it, but it seems to me, that it is just "Zombies on a space-ship" than anything else >_>
Prototype - Yes, interested in this myself
Spire - Ditto, I hope for a PS3 version >_>
LBP - Yeah, if it is free, I'll get i (I could have sworn the PSN version is supposed to be...but I could be wrong, in that case, I might not bother)....
Dark Sector
Left 4 Dead
Borderlands
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Etc etc...I would've loved to put Red Faction: Guerrilla up there, not only because it sounds like it could be GotY material but also because it's TPS but it's technically a sequel to the first game.
