Big telecommunications corporations vs. Net Neutrality. This battle is very important for both online gaming and the pocketbooks of major ISPs such as Comcast. In fact, it's so important that Comcast has stooped low enough to hire people off of the streets to sit in at a hearing regarding Net Neutrality, which effectively stopped other people who were paid by their employers to attend the hearing or who simply wanted to watch the proceedings were turned away because the room filled up.

Low blow, Comcast. Low blow.

Is Net Neutrality an important issue for gamers?

You bet.

If you’re not sure why, check out Every Time You Vote Against Net Neutrality, Your ISP Kills a Night Elf, which explains how online gaming will suffer if the big telecommunications firms win and Net Neutrality loses.

Honestly if we lost Net Neutrality I'd have to start inciting riots, preferably making sure we had at the very least some rocket launchers with rubber rockets. The internet is meant to having anything and everything, it should never be restricted, especially with all the biased news & such on TV (Fox anyone?).

Tell that to Comcast and their throttling of torrents. I had to leech bandwidth from a site once in order to download a legitimate 700mb torrent file when on a Comcast connection because all they saw was ".torrent" at the end of the file and assumed it was illegal.

This broke out a while back, they've already rescheduled hearings because of it. It's kinda obvious that it was a rigged audience when most of the people were passing out 20mins into the talks.
