Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

Perhaps in an effort to capitalize on the success of other great games in the genre that lets you lead another life without getting off the couch, (see Rockband and Guitar Hero) THQ has announced a new game for the DS and the Wii that will follow the life of a cheerleader. From the rigirous 6AM practices, to the throwing up in the bathroom after every meal, this game shows some promise. I can only hope for some locker room scenes, or car wash mini-games.
THQ wants you to know about cheer-tastic videogame All Star Cheer Squad.
The Nintendo Ds and Wii game follows a year in the life of a cheerleader. Players learn new cheers, practice and create their own cheertines to make the squad and eventually become capcheer. High-energy gameplay includes squad competitions and one-on-one cheer-offs, where players will use the Wii Cheermote and Nuncheer to perform dozens of real-world cheer and dance moves.
With the explosive growth of the girls gaming market in recent years due to the continued success of Wii and DS, our ongoing goal is to stay at the cutting edge of that success by bringing a brand new property for this segment to these popular systems, said Jim Huntley, director of global brand management, THQ. Were thrilled to introduce All Star Cheer Squad to the industry as a triple-a title that will get players involved in the action of what it takes to be an all star as well as make up their own unique cheer routines.

Seeing people cheerlead on the Wii, especially if they're drunk, could be amusing.

Well, this is kinda of an original idea for a game.
Manly tears, son. Manly tears full of awesome.
It will be interesting to see how popular this game is.
