A Nintendo DS title, described as a "disgusting concept" that aims to inform and educate players about the events surrounding the Nazi occupation of France and the genocide of millions of Jews during World War II, according to Nintendo, will not be released in the US.

Earlier on this month we learnt of a controversial Nintendo DS title currently under development by British designer Luc Bernard. Imagination is the Only Escape, a title that follows the exploits of a young Jewish boy living in France during the occupation by the Nazis in World War II and the time of the holocaust. No doubt it was going to ruffle a few feathers, and now we learn that it is likely Nintendo will not allow the game to be published in North America. A “disgusting concept” and “pretty creepy” are just two of the ways the title has been described so far.

Sounds like there's nothing really disgusting or wrong about this videogame except for the fact that it's a videogame. It's not like it would sell very well anyways.

I wouldn't say disgusting... rather, more like tasteless. Unless they show the actual tortures the Nazis gave to the Jews and Poles.

If they actually did show the tortures the Nazis gave, then only it would be disgusting.

Hmm, I wonder what was actually in the game. But nobody what, it still is a weird concept to make a game out of.

By the sounds of it, the game wouldn't have sold well anyway, I guess it is right that they aren't releasing it though.

It may be tragedy-based, but it's still just an edutainment game. The Americans are really missing the point.

P.S.: *bleep* the orange font colour.
