At face value, it seems to be promising news. Obviously we'll have to wait for more concrete details. While EA gets a lot of aggro for churning out sequel after sequel, which lots of people are sick of, the quality of those sequels is far from horrendous.
One of the IPs has been revealed as boxing. No information on the other two at the moment. The article does confirm that F1 Racing will not be a new IP as Sony holds the rights, although it's clear Peter Moore (EA President) is tempted by the idea.
EA Sports global marketing boss Todd Sitrin has said that the division is currently working on two new, unannounced intellectual properties.
In January this year, EA Sports unveiled Facebreaker, a new boxing title in development at EA Canada.
"We actually have three new original IPs in development, the only one that's been announced is Facebreaker, we haven't done an original IP at EA for several years, not since back to Freekstyle," said Sitrin to geekpulp.
