Mario Kart Wii dated for North America

Ladies and gentleman, start your engines... Nintendo has today confirmed that Mario Kart Wii (and the Wii Wheel which arrives boxed with each copy) will launch in North America on April 27, eariler than many could have hoped for.

After the launch of Super Smash Bros. Brawl in North America, fears arose that the release of Mario Kart Wii might be held back for months in order for consumers to fully digest one huge first party release before being treated to another. However, Nintendo of America has confirmed today that the much-anticipated racer will arrive in the US on April 27, just a few weeks after the European launch.

    I thought the date would have been like summer or fall at the latest, but this is good news. I've already pre-ordered it, which is also good news. Hope it's epic.
