Unreal creator Epic Games joined the long list of companies distributing their works through Valve's PC distribution platform Steam.

Their first few titles will constitute some oldies but goodies: Unreal Gold, Unreal II: The Awakening, Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition, Unreal Tournament 2004: Editor's Choice Edition, and Unreal Tournament 3.

Each will be featured for 10% off until March 24. An Unreal Deal Pack is also available, a combination packing all of the games for $59.95.

"Epic is a leading developer of game engine technology and has produced some of my favorite games of all time," said Valve president Gabe Newell. "It's an honor to be working with them and offering their current and classic titles to the millions of Steam gamers around the world."

i dont get why they didnt do this earlier. there epic are bitching about the lack of sales and they dont try the obvious way to distribute their games: through steam.

personally i prefer a physical copy of my games, and as such i have all the Unreal games and GoW on disc, but my bet is that there are alot of users over the world who would buy the games through download.

epic, next time dont bitch about the death of the PC and lack of sales until you actually give the revolution a try.

I think I heard rumors of Epic maybe starting their own Steam-like client which would make sense of the delay.

but if theyve now put the games on steam, im guessing that if they were planning on their own app it didnt work out too well. good, we only need steam, i dont want multiple programs that i keep having to open and close when i want to play a game.

        steam rules.

Exactly. That's why I brought up the "delay" because their plans didn't work out.
