It's not strange to find a gaming company doing research. But how many are interested in researching the number of Japanese people who have used electronics while bathing? Well SEGA is apparently interested and, after conducting a survey, have found out that 41.2% of Japanese have used a cellphone while in the tub.

Fair enough. But that brings up the question: What on earth is SEGA going to do with this information?

Hi-tech mobile phones and leisurely baths are well-known passions of the Japanese -- and apparently they're not mutually exclusive.

A survey released Monday showed that 41.2 percent of people in the country have at least once taken their mobile phones to the bathtub to make calls, type e-mails, listen to music or play games.

The practice extends across all sexes and ages, although teenagers were the most likely to have bathed with their phones, according to the poll of 16,250 people carried out by video-game maker Sega.

Lmao what useless research, are they going to invent a phone holder for while in the bath or something?

I sense an increase of Sega created phone games on the way.

I'd have to agree with that. God knows why Sega would research this, guess it's really mobile phone games?

    Odd....

Maybe they're doing research on behalf of some cell-phone company? In any case, they'd probably do well to come out with more water-proof (or at least very water resistant) cell phones in Japan >_>

Cool, but wtf does Sega want to do with that? Make a game that you sit in the tub using electronics?
