Seems that the battle mode for Mario Kart Wii has been tweaked. Seems now that when you lose all three ballons, you can still cause mayhem. But watch out, if another player hits you, your team loses points.

Mario Kart Wii is racing to the shelves in a month's time. More gameplay details are being revealed from the removal of the snaking technique to today's report of a change for the classic Balloon Battle Mode.

Normally, three popped balloons will send you out of the fight. However, the newest issue of Nintendo Power magazine notes that you can still join the race even if you have lost those balloons.

That means you can still fight and cause mayhem until time runs out - but according to the report, you won't cause any damage. Reports also say that your team will lose a point each time your balloon-less car gets hit by other players in the race.

Haha that's awesome, although it comes with a great risk. But that's the fun of it right, annoy the *bleep* out of the other team! =D

Hah, this is awesome! I remember in Mario Kart 64, that if you were playing a game with 3 or 4 players, you'd turn into a bomb that could run into an opponent and still kill them. Good times.

Well at least this is better than having to wait for all the other players to finish the battle. A nice change, not sure if it will work well though.

lol I can see this being a fav for the rubbish players. Whereas for experienced and talented ones, a sheer annoyance.

What about the people who happen to get horrible luck? In Mario Kart, Battle mode has almost always been based upon luck, to be honest.

Cool, now there isn't a reason just to end it on them. Now I can haunt them from the grave.

Well considering you can't do 'damage', I don't think you can do much haunting, but that is still yet to be seen.
