Electronic Arts has confirmed that the latest in its Madden NFL football titles will arrive in North America on August 12. A Special Edition featuring NFL Coach 09 will also ship for the PS3 and Xbox 360, while it seems like the Wii will be the only home console to miss out.

Listen up sports fans, Electronic Arts has announced today that the next iteration of the long-running Madden NFL series will arrive in North America on August 12. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, special editions of the title will also be shipped, complete with a copy of NFL Coach 09, which includes exclusive classic Madden NFL gameplay, and an extensive library of exclusive bonus video content. Sadly, however, this addition seems destined only for the PS3 and Xbox 360, not the Nintendo Wii.
