It's a sad day indeed, where a 15-year old was shot by his 18-year old 'friend'. The reason behind the shooting? Olivier Baptiste was asked by William Suarez to be passed the game that he was holding, when Olivier refused, Suarez pulled out a gun from his waistband, and after a few moments, Olivier was shot dead.

Inside the home, Suarez approached Baptiste and told the boy to give him a video game that Baptiste was holding, according to court documents.

When Baptiste did not give him the game, Suarez pulled out a gun from his waistband, pointed the gun at Baptiste’s head and pulled the trigger, according to court documents. The gun did not fire initially.

wow what a *bleep* face. God I think the only person who will be please by this news is jack Thompson. What I find disgusting is that the source looks like it is blaming video games for the incident.

Whether or not this death was game related (see Raziel_326's response below), people need to stop bringing Jack Thompson into every news story. He may not be an advocate of certain video games but that doesn't mean he'll be pleased with a young child's death. Don't be so ridiculous.

All the articles linking this to a video game are false, the shooting had nothing to do with a game.

    Original Story

The true original story, the guy said he was showing off his gun to the kid and it accidentally went off. He never once mentioned a video game. Nobody knows where these news articles get the idea a video game was involved.

Before trying to express to the public what the true story is Raziel 326, maybe you should read more on the incident. The gun did NOT accidentally go off. William Suarez pulled the trigger TWICE according to court documents. That is no accident. Although a video game may have been brought up according to different accounts given by witnesses, a video game is not to blame. The story has changed due to more evidence and accounts by witnesses. The original story was probably printed according to what the accused, William Suarez, or his family reported in hopes of covering up the truth. The fact remains: the innocent life of 15 year old Olivier Baptiste was taken and can never be replaced. Please be sensitive to those grieving this loss when posting comments.

RIP Olivier ~~ Love you cuz

Did you even watch the video in the link you posted? He said "He asked for a video game while he pointed a gun at him"

Because some reporters will add any little extra bit of spice if they think itll get more attention for their work. More attention means they get more money.

This is what pisses me off about the news. They dont care about actually giving the truth, They just care about making cash off of everything.

I don't see why someone would be showing his friend a gun in the first place. =/
