The highly addictive puzzle game Echochrome gets a US release date. It will be out in May, most likely for both PSN and PSP. The game is already released in Japan, but no word on European release date. The PSN version will cost $10, but the PSP version will cost more because of the extra features it has that the PSN version does not.

The brain teaser echochrome is finally getting a US release. (Check out the downloadable demo here.) The PSP version of echochrome will be a downloadable title, available in early May for only $10. All the content featured in the PSP version will be unique to the system (and none of the content from the PS3 version will be in the handheld version either).

A level editor is included with the game, but unfortunately for PSP owners, trading levels can only happen via local Ad-Hoc, not Infrastructure. We're hoping that with Memory Stick, it'll be possible for friends to simply e-mail levels to each other.

Why are they able to release it in the US in May but not in Europe? What is so difficult about making it available at the same time everywhere? I was quite looking forward to this game.

Extra features? Like what? Because to me, it sounds like the PSP is getting the short end of the stick.

The PSN version only has 50 level and the PSP version has 100 level. The PSP version also includes more game mods that the PSN version lacks.

Oh wow. Guess I'm not missing anything from having a PS3 yet. So any word on if maps can be taken off the memory stick and uploaded online?
