After knocking Halo 3 off of its Xbox Live throne in January, Call of Duty 4 has gone on to break even more records, logging nearly 1.3 million online gamers daily on the Xbox 360 alone. Statistics for the PlayStation 3 and PC versions aren't as accurate, but it doesn't take much to imagine how high a combined figure would be.

Infinity Ward has revealed that its Xbox Live-topping shooter Call of Duty 4 is attracting "between 1.2 and 1.3 million users every day" just on Microsoft's service - with PS3 numbers "monstrously huge".

1.3mil a day seems a bit far fetched but on periodical days I can totally believe 1.3 mil. They really hit the nail on the head with CoD4, ever since I saw the (ugh) 1up podcast where they discussed CoD4's multiplayer I've been interested in the game, anyways long story short, CoD4's a great game

Haha, amazing. I wonder where Halo stands now (especially since the leaderboards claim that CoD4 has over 3.5 million players).
