Apparently due to conflicting egos during the development process, the DS version of Halo was canned. But, gamers hopes must've did something, because Microsoft has changed their mind and decided to go ahead with the game. A promotional cover can be pictured here, as well some screens from the demo.

Microsoft announced today it would be publishing the DS version of Halo through THQ (Age of Empires: Age of Kings). No developer is announced yet (it's not Bungie) but further details are to be expected shortly.

What? The box shows no wi-fi, it better give wi-fi.

I'm the gamer that lives for the multiplayer, wi-fi is a must.

Its just promo/demo stuff, I'm sure we'll get it in the final version.

Right, right. I've just never wanted to spend $60 for Halo 3, and my guess is that this will be around $40 or so and will still give a good impact without impairing me $20. Plus another shooter for my phat DS.

Haven't found much for me since MPH.

Same, man. Dementium is sorta in that realm though, and Call of Duty. Just noticed something called 'C.O.R.E.' coming out too..looks awesome!

Agreed, InnerDemon. Halo DS can easily give MPH a run for its money. As of right now, MPH is pretty much the shooter for the DS.

Development's just started, so calm down InnerDemon; I'm sure we'll see WiFi in the end.

I just don't think this would be much of a success.

Seriously, a handheld doesn't suit Halo. Not the DS. Not even the PSP.

Well, I have to say that it is another major step. Ok so the gaming company get money but I prefer them to be on all different consoles. However without Wi-Fi it will not be as good, unfortunatly.

Lack of info from source (not to mention the site has undergone a "change") tells me this is an April Fools joke.

Wow, that would be pretty cool if it did come out, I wonder when it will, if it isn't some sick joke. It will fail if it doesn't have Wifi though.
