After the continuous back and forth battle between Rockstar and the British Board of Film Classification over Manhunt 2, they have decided to approve Grand Theft Auto IV with an 18+ rating with, as the BBFC proudly proclaims in bold, red lettering on their classification entry, "no cuts made."

It sounds to me like someone's a little sore after being whipped into shape by the British court system.

Given a history of bad blood between the BBFC and Rockstar, I'd say it most certainly is a surprise that it got approved the first time around, especially without any editing.

        1 b& game? Hardly a "history".

The previous GTA games have all been fine so why would this be any different?

I was referring more to the constant back and forth between the two over Manhunt 2, not that they've had troubles with other games getting past the BBFC.

The biggest issue was for UK gamers if it was going to be edited, luckily this hasn't happened, unlike Manhunt 2.

Not surprised it is 18+, all f them have been as far as I can remember. This one should be no different and looks damn awesome

So it's been given an R? Then it won't make it here

No, it's been given an 18 rating.

We don't use the R rating over here.

Honestly, I don't see why a game should be edited as long as it states the "recommended" age on the box.
