It was always known that Gran Turismo 5 and it's predecessor Gran Turismo 5 Prologue would sell well. But no one could predict this well. Over 300 000 Blu ray copies were sold in Europe alone in just 48 hours. And this isn't even including the numbers of PSN updates

The latest European sales numbers at VGChartz for “the week ending March 29, 2008″ show that exactly 374,607 Blu-Ray copies of Gran Turismo 5: Prologue have been sold. Considering that the game was released in Europe on March 28, those sales numbers could only apply to the two single days that it was available on store shelves. This, of course, is in addition to the one million European pre-orders and does not include the number of times the game has been purchased via PSN.

Like that record is hard to beat.

    OH YES HE DID!

Nah, kidding. But that's damn fast, although it does help out a lot that it's a budget title.

I can't say I'm that surprised. After all, this IS GT. It always sold. But still impressive for just Prologue. Imagine how fast it will sell when the full game is out.

I had to try 5 different shops before I could finally nab the last one on the shelf. A lot of people downloaded it from the store too so I wonder how many copies it really sold between both high street and PSN Store.

Things like this are what makes me feel bad about being poor. Why did the PS3 have to be so expensive?
And shit sony isn't bringing GT to PSP like they promised before the launch.

This is good for PS3, I have an xbox 360 myself and want it for that. Still good to see that it is a good game.
