Shantae, a platformer that first appeared on the Game Boy Color, but disappeared after a Game Boy Advance update was canned, has resurfaced today. Its creator Matt Bozon has confirmed that the franchise is heading to WiiWare.
Shantae, a platform game produced by WayForward Technologies and published for the Game Boy Color by Capcom was something of a sleeper hit, damaged by the fact that its release was halted for eight months and that it was never widely promoted. After years absence and confirming recent chatter, it has been confirmed that a sequel the platformer featuring a half-genie heroine is in development for Nintendos new download service, WiiWare.
