PlayStation Store shoppers, you may now let out that held breath. After Sony announced its plans to redesign the store, and after having revealed what it will look like, many people were asking whether SCE would take the opportunity to region lock the store. Their answer? No. You're still free to shop around in other regions in the store if you so desire.

After receiving the official announcement regarding the PlayStation Store's impending redesign, one of the first questions asked was "will we still be able to access the PlayStation Store for other regions besides our own". With the new PlayStation Store moving to a native XMB application and away from a web-based system, many have questioned if Sony would take the opportunity to region lock the store. So we passed along the question.

    no... what this means is that they will not lock content from the uk and japan stores which would have made the content unplayable on north american ps3's... so you definetly want to keep your foreign accouts

    So why didn't they just make one store? I live in Europe, and im bored of America getting all the good content which I can't buy because it's in $. Is there any actual reason for having all these different stores?

      Thats exsactly It I think. Because of the different form on currency. Well that is my guess.

    Nope, doesn't make the slightest difference to anybody.

    And StabWound, you should delet your UK one anyway. Nothing good on it anyway.
