Games We Love but Wish We Could Love Playing

THQ have announced at their Gamers Day event in San Francisco that Saints Row 2 will be hitting the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 26th for North America. It is however not known if this release date will be the same for the European gamers waiting for this to hit.
In anticipation to this release date though you should hope to hear more information about this game soon including news screenshots and gameplay.
The big news of April centers squarely on Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto IV, but let's not forget about a relatively new series that was inspired by GTA: Saints Row. The original was great and the sequel could be even better, as THQ has revealed that Saints Row 2 will release for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on August 26.
According to IGN, THQ handed over the date at their Gamers Day event in San Francisco, and lucky for all you eager beavers out there, SR2's official website is already up and running. Late August seems to be a good time for this one; everyone should have GTAIV finished by then, and if they want more open-ended chaotic goodness, Saints Row 2 should fit the bill. It's a different style, though - pimpin' ghetto gangstas vs. slick, brutal Russian mobsters - so you'll be looking at two very different experiences (we hope). And remember, Saints Row 2 will offer co-op play, so that's another bonus.
Due to this unveiling, we now expect to see plenty of media come our way for the highly anticipated sequel. We'll be on the lookout for new screens, videos and other tasty morsels, so stay tuned for that, and keep your calendars free towards the end of August.
