Massachusetts-based Mad Doc Software, the studio that recently finished its work on Bully: Scholarship Edition for the 360, has been acquired by Rockstar Games and renamed Rockstar New England.

Rockstar Games has grown its stable of studios further with the acquisition of Mad Doc Software.

Massachusetts-based Mad Doc recently worked on the 360 port of Bully: The Scholarship Edition for Rockstar. The studio was established in 1999, by Dr Ian Lane Davis - the studio previously developed the likes of Star Trek: Legacy and Empire Earth II.

Mad Doc has a particular focus on AI and networking technologies and its proprietary Mad3D Game Engine and Mad AI middleware haas been available for licensing. In a statement about the acquisition, Rockstar singled out the firm's technical expertise as a key motivation for the purchase.

    Good to see Rockstar expanding. Mad Doc did good with the 360 Bully, can't wait to see what they do next.

      Except for all bugs from what I hear. A patch was released, but I don't know how much it has fixed the issues. I still need to pick it up myself.

        Really? I played it at a bud's house and didn't notice any bugs. Yeah, I don't see a need in getting this as I have Bully for the PS2.
