According to the NPD Group's earlier report this week it's has now revealed to talk about the online gaming via the Next Generation console. And to no surprise to some the Xbox 360 gamers are making the most use of that with Playstation 3 and PC gamers following. No Nintendo Wii was mentioned strangely..
Though when MTV's Multiplayer contacted the NPD Group to find out further information on this they replied and stated that the Xbox 360 Gamers in percentage to all online gamers was at a staggering 50%, with the PLAYSTATION 2 in second taking up 22% and the Nintendo Wii taking up an addition 18% of online gamers.
When you get into the specifics, though, is where things get particularly interesting; for instance, check this out:
quoteAmong those who use a video game system for online gaming, Xbox 360 is the top system used, with 50 percent stating they play games online via that system. On average, Xbox 360 owners spend the most time per week using their 360s to play games online, followed by PC and PS3 owners using these respective systems for online game play.
Not satisfied with that small nugget, MTV Multiplayer contacted the NPD and to try and pry out some further information on the subject. This is what they got:
quoteAmong those who use a video game system for online gaming, Xbox 360 (50%), PlayStation 2 (22%) and Nintendo Wii (18%) are the top three systems used, with Xbox360 continuing to command a dominant lead.
Thats not a typo PlayStation 2 came in at number two, with the 360 way out ahead. Aside from the abnormality that is the 360, the PS2 and Wii figures can likely be attributes to the fact that they have such large install bases; youre bound to get a good number of people playing online.

This qualifies as news?
And Andrew5, thay post up there deserves -3 thumbs just for being blindly stupid.
there isnt specific data that compares the time spent for each console
Either way, the point is, this research study is kind of pointless.
Not owning a certain game console is in no way a reason to rate down a response.
Grow up or get out.
