Microsoft's Head of Xbox in the UK has made it clear that there are no plans to release a Blu-ray add-on for the Xbox 360 - they are backing digital delivery instead.

Mr Thompson said offering a Blu-ray player to Xbox 360 gamers would not be the best use of resources for the firm.

Translation: "We're upset about HDDVDs failure. We are not yet ready to allow Sony to make money off of our console."

Why would they be upset that HDDVD failed? It's not they're problem...sure they backed it but only like 9% or something like that of 360 owners actually bought the add on.

Well is this for games or movies? If its the former thats an obvious answer, if its the latter, than thats pretty stupid.

Well damn, I would have bought a Blu-Ray addon now that it proved itself the winner of the HD format. I hate digital mediums since I like to actually have a permanent disc that I can carry to friend's houses and look at the pretty boxart. Screw a video that I can only watch at home.
