Webhalen, a Swedish retailer claims a Grand Theft Auto IV edition PlayStation 3 could be in the future. The bundle would include the 40GB PlayStation 3 and Grand Theft Auto IV all for around $750.

This news is, as of right now, unconfirmed by Sony.

According to Swedish retailer Webhalen who is boasting some pretty legit-looking box art, it looks like Sony will be offering a Grand Theft Auto IV PlayStation 3 bundle—a standard 40GB PS3 along with a copy of GTA IV for roughly $750. As of right now, the news is still unconfirmed and could be a regional offering only.

      My question too. o_0

      For that much, I'd better get a 60 gig PS3, GTA4, 2 Dualshock3s, and 5 friggin movies...

I haven't figured that out yet.

Hopefully it's a miscalculation or something.

Its in Sweden and its known that countries outside North America tend to have higher retail prices.

I think subzero hit the nail on the head. $750 is probably the translation of what the Swedes will pay if converted to American dollars.

It's Grand Theft Auto. It would make sense, but they already have the damn MGS bundle coming out anyways...so wtf gives?

GTA4 release date April 29, MGS4 release date June 12. Pretty much 2 whole months difference so i can see this happening.

MGS4 bundle is priced at 500 with the new controller as well as being the 80GB version.

Pretty good strategy on Sony's part but I'll believe it when Sony themselves confirm it.

How is having a ridiculously overpriced bundle a good strategy?

Like I said above. Videogame consoles in European countries and other non American countries are more expensive than in North America because of their currency. And its probably a good deal if you are in Sweden or any part of Europe.

    I don't believe it.

Especially since it is so (relatively) close to release of the MGS4 bundle. Not to mention this is the first we've heard about it, whereas we've known about the MGS4 bundle for some time....

TBH, the box doesn't strike me as being 'real', for some reason. Though if it is, it is probably a photoshopped mock-up >_>

Looks pretty real to me, i mean its the same box art as the Game box. Also read my response to Seeker about the MGS4 bundle thing.

That is a tad expensive to say the least. If they are hoping to obtain around 750 for the bundle then they better through in some extras into the pack to actually make it worthwhile to pay for the whole amount. I personally wouldn't pay for it if it only came with a ps3, base accesories and the game.

This is probably going to be a european bundle, the European currency is alot stronger than the dollar so a bundle that to them is €450 is going to come to around $750, now you Americans may see what Europeans have to go through especially in the UK, especially since that bundle if it releases will be more than $750 in the UK.

In addition to this article further speculation has been stated by other retailer's saying that this same bundle will come to Austrialia for the same price.

(Though I would add this onto here instead of making a new article :3)

Hmm $700 dollars is around the price for the 40GB PS3 around here, so what Tidus said could be possible
