Infinity Ward have revealed that they have given the Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack DLC for the Playstation 3 to Sony and now it is up to them to certificate them for users in ready for a release. Though a release date has not been said they have claimed for it to appear at the same time as the Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition comes available in stores which should be next week.

The PS3 Call of Duty 4 Variety Map Pack DLC is in Sony's hands for certification, developer Infinity Ward has revealed.

Speaking on its official website, the developer said it was "shooting" for a worldwide simultaneous release and working to bring word of a release date as we speak.

Xbox 360 owners have already been enjoying the CoD4 DLC since last week, although Xbox LIVE did experience service issues as a result of the heavy workload.

Infinity Ward does, however, expect the Variety Map Pack to arrive on PSN "around the same time" as Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Game of the Year Edition for PS3 comes out in stores, on which details will be arriving "hopefully this week".

Gotta love how people think it is taking time because of the certification process, people do know the PS Store is down for atleast another 10 days that puts a delay on most things.

Yeah, PS Store being down is one thing, but the certification is another. It has to go through that whether it's down or not.

It's like how people expect something to be out the very day it's completed. As mentioned, these things absolutely must go through pre-release protocols and other such things as certification.

PS Store being down is a bummer, but hey; new design is worth it.
