GTA IV is coming soon, and retailers everywhere are starting to advertise the game like mad to increase the hype and to try and increase their potential profit on release day. There's still no clear way to determine whether the PS3 or 360 version will fare better, as the game isn't even out yet, but Sl!ceGaming has put together a list of four reasons (and two possibilities that almost made their list, including, ironically enough, the RRoD) why they think the 360 will do better.

With the release of Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto IV (GTA4) only days away now, gamers may be wondering which console is getting the better end of the deal when it comes to the two titans. We believe that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 will be the console that will enable the game to really show its full potential. Below we have listed 4 things that we think will make GTA best on 360.

"Epic" DLC? Someone's overdoing the hype by a truckload...

Secondly, this list is the work of a fanboy. The online component will work the same exact way on both consoles, the controller has nothing to do with anything, not everyone bothers with achievements, and the only thing that I can agree with is DLC (though 'epic' could be a grand overstatement).

Why would anyone bother making this list anyway?

        I <3 Xenc's comments here.

This article is like that dude shooting Archduke Franz Ferdinand...let Console War 2402358203259234923592349124191592345 begin.

But to be fair, M$ did throw down a $50 million ADVANCEMENT (meaning they'll be paying more) for exclusive DLC...so sorry, my money's on the 360 one.

I totally agree that this seems very one-sided, however, just because everyone doesn't bother with achievements, doesn't mean they can't be viewed as an advantage. A lot of people do bother with them.

The exceptions to the list were funny. "RROD keeps players on their towa when saving." Great stuff. Pointless article stating facts that we already knew, but still funny.

The RRoD creates an "on the edge experience." LOL that was the silliest shit I have read all year. These lists are really annoying now.

      Now?

I think GameGrep was formed from (annoying) lists. Sure as hell wasn't news.

And who are you to decide whats news worthy or not?
Its news, whether you like not its the truth.

As for the list i can see why people would choose that version over the PS3 version, but who cares what version you play, your going to be playing it regardless.

I don't care what the article says, I'm getting it for the 360 (over the PS3) for 2 reasons: Achievments and DLC. Thats it.

But I have to admit, the article is rather ridiculous. I think someone thinks that just because the 360 version has DLC makes it the better version. IMO, it is the "prefered" version as of now because of the DLC. Its not better its not worse, its just the "prefered" version. But I don't think Sony is gonna just sit on this. I think they've got their own DLC on the way eventually.

Everyone here's saying what a daft list it is.

But those are 4 of the 5 main reasons I'm getting it on 360 as opposed to PS3. Chuck in the fact I prefer the 360 controller and it reall seems as though there's only one choice (if you've got both, like me).

I have both and I'm getting it on PS3. Really has nothing to do with this silly list.

Out of interest, what are your reasons for picking the PS3 version over the 360 version?

First of all, I'm not all too big on download content in general, so for a game like GTA, where I'll be playing it for hours anyway, the expansions aren't a selling point for me. Even if it was, by the time the expansions come out, there is going to be WAY too many other games I'll be playing. That, however, isn't to say that I definitely won't be interested, since they are so quiet with the details.

Also, GTA has always been a PlayStation game for me. Nothing is going to change that. I've had every GTA since GTA 2 on a PlayStation, so it just feels right for me, know what I mean?

          Fair enough.

The nostalgia factor was the big thing that was leading me to the PS3 version tbh.

The PS3 will be getting achievements also just like DMC4. Plus we don't know how Home will be compatible with GTAIV .

1 reason why it doesn't matter what you play it on, you're going to enjoy the *bleep* out of it no matter what because it's GTA4.

Reminds me of the comment I made on the last "why it's better on this console" article there was. Thumbs up for speaking truth.
