America gets its own Japanese-style maid cafe.

Gothic Girl | April 11, 2008 | News | Misc
Japan has the infamous Pinafore cafe, where the waitresses dress up as characters from the game Idol Soldier Suchie Pai IV. They also have the Maid Taxi, where "sexy maids" play Playstation with the passengers. And let's not forget the Hibari-Tei Maid Cafe, that employs men to cosplay as female gaming maids.

Well it looks like a similar phenomena is starting in America... The Royal/T cafe is opening on April 12th in Los Angeles, and has separate areas that will cater to anime fans, gamers and art fanatics. And yes, the employees are all "sexy maids".
A little piece of Akiba is coming to the Los Angeles area come April 14th. Royal /T Cafe is having their grand opening this Saturday in Culver City. It is considered to be the first maid cafe in the Southern California region. Now Los Angelinos will have the opportunity to experience a little bit more of the otaku experience. Royal /T will also encompass a shop and art gallery as part of its venue. Possibly to appeal to customers other than the otaku crowd.
