It's interesting that they haven't denied it at any point to say that it won't be happening but they haven't commented on it either. So it still remains to be seen until E3. I guess we'll just have to bide time to wait and see. Though what could be done with the 3rd make of the DS? What could they do now?

Hirokazu Hamamura, the president of Famitsu parent company Enterbrain, has hinted that there's a chance Nintendo will reveal a new iteration of the DS at E3.

What's more interesting is that according to a translation made by website Akayuki, Nintendo spokesman Hiroshi Yasushi did not deny this rumour, but told Famitsu that the company cannot comment at this point.

To be honest, given Nintendo's current state of mind we can't even imagine what madness could be part of a third-iteration of the DS. Even a smell sensor wouldn't shock us that much at this point.

I'm not buying it. I'm pefectly happy with my Nintendo DS (Original) and if there's some games that I like that need the 3rd DS then I'll need to sell most of my games and trade in my old DS. >_>

The DS does not need a nother model. The lite is fine.

I don't see the point in having another DS out there. The original and DS Lite are perfectly fine. It makes me wonder what else they could possible do though with this handheld.

The point of having another DS out there is so Nintendo can make money.

Game Boy Advance. Game Boy SP. Game Boy Micro.

Now if they follow that trend, we'll likely see a third model, but I doubt it'd be anytime soon. Hell, it better not be, I just got my cobalt DS lite!

    3rd version, I don't think so.

I already have the DS and Lite, I can't afford anything else.

I'd only buy it if could play Game Boy (Colour) games and possible some sort extra feature... it'll be hard to out do the DS lite.

I still have an original, and want a better one, so I'll probably get this if it does come out. I'll wait until my birthday to get a DS Lite, it if hasn't come out by then.

Wow. A third version of the Nintendo DS already?

This doesn't seem too likely but I can't wait to find out what Ninendo has planned. I just hope they come out with different colors as well as the launch because it too them so long to make a red DS Lite that I also fainted.

Erm a third version seems a bit much even for Nintendo. I still have my original DS which I bought on release. I can't see myself buying this 3rd version unless it's a whole different system all together in which I need to buy it to access the newer games.

I think that a 3rd version is going a bit too far, but sure, i would buy it!

    after 50 years of allowance...

I would not buy the 3rd version since my current Lite suffices, unless either that breaks or its uncompatible with newer games. If it comes out with internet browsing, however, I'm getting it regardless.
