Nintendo always seems to have the worst luck when it comes to the online modes in their games.
Mario Kart Wii was only released today, and already people have taken over the online mode to cheat their way to winning.
The Time Trials have been the worst hit, with most of the times recorded being impossible to legitimately reach.

I know that some of you out there are reading this and laughing. That’s because you are one of the cheaters! Mario Kart Wii is hitting all around the world, and the cheaters are coming out in full-force. It seems that the the Time Trials mode is taking the biggest hit from cheaters. There are all sorts of impossible times popping up, and Nintendo is yet to do anything about it. Granted, the game has just come out in certain areas, so I am still hopefully for Nintendo to clamp down on these issues. Are we going to see Mario Kart Wii’s online fun ruined just as quickly as Mario Kart DS?

What are people thinking these days? Seriously, it's not like cheating makes you any cooler. It just pisses other people off and gets them to warn other people not to play with you.

Some people are just really sore losers...

It's better to lose fairly. They are really immature.

Oh noes, I might not be the bestest in the world so I'll cheat my way there.

Well aside from that nobody respects them for it, there's no actual feeling of accomplishment and even then there's a very good chance another cheater would still beat them.

I cannot fathom what people would find fun about that. =\

Those bastards. Nintendo has the power to do something about this, so why don't they?

I'm sure they will, but it'll most likely be too little too late or barely noticeable at all, just like how they treated Mario Kart DS and Metroid Prime: Hunters.

Why do they even cheat!? Such a waste. Now there's no way that the people who DON'T cheat will beat their times...

*Sigh* Always the pathetic bunch. But under a day. You've got to grant them that that's pretty talented. Bastardizing a game's WiFi in under a day.

I look forward to not using WiFi.

Are there even stats for this online mode? That is just sad. Meh, guess I won't take advantage of it's online features too much...

I just hope its not as bad as mario kart DS.

Everyone just snakes on it and it jsut takes the fun out of the game because you cant play properly if you cant snake right.

Well, snaking was built into the game. If you don't know how to use it, then learn or fail.

Cheating, on the other hand, =/= snaking and = faggotness.

Argh ><. That's so annoying I hate it when individuals use cheating devices to get to the top of the leaderboard, it would have been better if Nintendo tried to stop it so scores that were cheated on could not be uploaded online T__T. That means that the leader boards are never going to be legitimate. That's so argh ><

Agreed. I presume that hacking is done by altering the hex codes in gameplay so that it fits them better. I think that Nintendo should find some way to "lock" the codes they have in the game, so that they can never be changed to better suit some certain people who own Action Reply.

I don't see the point in cheating. It just takes the fun out of everything and it isn't like you actually accomplished something by yourself.

Cheaters should die. Why do they need to ruin it for others, just so that they look better at the game, when they're really not? It makes people not want to play with them, and gives them a bad rep.

NOOOOOOO!why cheaters?!?!WHY!?!?!why can't you losers admit you suck and get out of mario kart's wi-fi connection?WHY!?!?!

i hope this problem gets resolved soon or else i'm going to have to play only with friends.mario kart DS cheaters are hard enough to beat, and considering i was really good at that game i had my fair share of wins against cheaters without cheating.just hopes this happens in MKWii...

This must be a new record; an all-time speed for hackers everywhere! With the speed they made the hacks, they could be successors of Jesse Owens in the hacking world.

I was really looking forward to having at least one Ghost data online that's awesome. But when one person cheats, another cheats to beat them, then another, and so on, which means when the USA gets the game and someone gets an awesome time without cheating, they'll most likely be 1,000th place or such.
