The bigger they are, the harder they fall. The same saying goes for the PSP. It's already made big waves this year with God of War: Chains of Olympus and Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, but don't think for a second that it's done pulling the punches yet!

PSP Blogger takes a look at some of the titles still planned for the PSP in 2008. Among these are a few new games, but there's also a few older ones coming out via the Playstation Store.

It’s only April but what a year it’s been for PSP gamers this far. We found ourselves performing deadly combo attacks with God of War: Chains of Olympus, reviving past memories with Final Fantasy: Crisis Core, controlling odd looking but dangerous little creatures in Patapon and even took our current music collection to the next level with Beats. It’s without a doubt been a truly spectacular year for the PSP (as seen by the recent PSP sales figures).

Oblivion? What is Oblivion? Surely, they can't be talking about Elder Scrolls 4?

I've not heard of any other game that's called Oblivion, but it's always possible there's another game coming out by the same name.

Well, I did a seek on Oblivion. http://www.neoseeker.com/seeker.php?keywords=Oblivion
It seems like ES4 is the only Oblivion.
Woah. It'll be awesome if that comes for PSP. But I guess it's just a shit rumour.

It could be, but then again none of the games that were mentioned as rumors have anything anywhere about being confirmed, hence the word "rumor." We'll just have to wait and see what becomes of it if anything at all.

This month's PSM said that the port of elder scrolls cancellation was a rumor but the company wont confirm or deny. Makes it sound like it was true at one point.

was thats right the ES4 oblivion was supposed to come out along time ago on psp but sadly it wasn't the full game it was a crappy port (it was just level after level of dungeon crawling no real free roaming) and the last i had heard it got dumped maybe the picked it up again.

They would've sold me with Klonoa if I hadn't already converted my copy. But Vib Ribbon? Hopefully it has updated MP3 support. If so, top of my list for sure. Otherwise, the rest of the titles mentioned don't really interest me (though I still have a lot to go back to and finish, like Wipeout and Final Fantasy IX for example).

They still have yet to bring out a game that's very appealing to me. They've come close with CC, LocoRoco, etc., but I don't see a need to get one to be honest. A good price drop, perhaps?

I agree. I've seen some good games, but none really for me. Hopefully some of the games that are going to come out will be good.

Hold on, what about Final Fantasy: Dissidia and Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep?

Those are also big time games that will help the PSP. Granted it might not be out this year, but its still some PSP killer apps.

FF and KH, as Final Fantasy said, ought to seriously put some umph in PSP sales this year. Even as a Nintendo fanboy, I wouldn't be that ashamed if PSP pulled further ahead than the DS.

So they said the year isn't over but what games are coming out? I know Secret Agent Clank is coming and Bandicoop, but is there anything else that'll make a big hit like God of War did?

Not every game can be God of War. The best way to maximize your sales it to touch every market and provide a variety of software. What games are coming out? Did you read anything at all
