German government may enforce 'gaming curfew'

chautemoc | April 12, 2008 | News | Misc
German school kids are apparently so enthusiastic about games they're willing to miss class for them, enough so that the government is considering a curfew of sorts.
German authorities are reportedly mulling an appeal to electronics marts to turn off demonstration games consoles in the daytime because they are often a hangout for truants from school. The newspaper Welt am Sonntag quoted Udo Nagel, interior minister of Hamburg state, as saying the idea was among 22 recommendations on fighting juvenile delinquency for a meeting of state interior ministers in the coming week.
