Hot off of release Ikaruga on the Xbox Live Arcade, legendary development studio Treasure revealed their current plans: two titles for the Wii, according to President Masato Maegawa, in an interview with CNET Japan. Currently, there are no specifics, other than the two games will be 3D titles, instead of their standard 2D. Also, his team is putting the special features of the Wiimote to use.
Treasure is cult video game developer widely known for their sidescrollers, shoot-em-ups, and overall quality games for various different titles. Some of their better known titles are Gunstar Heroes, Sin & Punishment, Bangai-O, Radiant Silvergun and Ikaruga. Their more recent projects were the Bleach DS fighting games (Soten ni Kakeru Unmei (The Blade of Fate) and Kokui Hirameku Requiem (Dark Souls)) and Bangai-O Spirits, also for the DS.
With Ikaruga now available for Xbox Live Arcade, we're sure many are wondering what's next from Treasure, the developer behind that game and other classics like Radiant Silvergun and Gunstar Heroes.
CNET Japan got the answer in a recent interview with Treasure president Masato Maegawa. In the interview, Maegawa revealed that the studio is working on two titles for the Wii.
While he wouldn't get too specific, he did reveal that the two games are 3D titles, rather than the 2D for which the company is known. He also hinted that his team is putting the special features of the Wiimote to use.
