EA to be the best company?

theundertakergonzo | April 14, 2008 | News | Company Misc
The EA CEO John Riccitiello has gone on to say that EA is going to the disney of video games. He said his priority wasn't on being being a number on the charts but more to get EA to be the histories greatest video game companmy. Though isn't it sort of known that Nintendo is the disney of video gaming? If EA wants to steal it there going to have to do more them make good sport games.
Electronic Arts CEO John Riccitiello has said that he wants to make his company what 'Disney is to animation and NBC is to television'.

Speaking to the Financial Times (via MCV), Riccitiello said his priority wasn't being number on in the charts, but placing EA in history as videogame's all-time greatest company.

"I read a book on how every medium creates one great company: animation created Disney, CBS was created by radio, NBC by television," he said.

"Interactive entertainment is going to determine one great company and I think it's this one. One of the reasons I've come back is to try to take it to the next step."

He added: "Above all, I'm trying to bring great quality and innovation back . . . I'm also trying to drive us towards a variety of new business models, whether it be subscription or micro-transactions, or advertising-based."

We appreciate EA saying it's not all about the money, but hasn't Nintendo already gone down as 'the Disney of videogames'?

EA games as the Disney of games, compared to the huge Nintendo and Sony, plus the equally as good Microsoft. They ought to find something to back up that claim.

I'm sorry, in order to be the best of the best and stand the test of time you don't:

    1) Recycle games
    2) Make half assed ports
    3) Rinse and Repeat

The only reason EA would ever become the world's best video game company would be because they bought everyone else.

They have as much chance to be the best as their games becoming good, oh wait thats not going to happen.

Seriously what BS is this EA, get a Clue no one likes your games or company. Stop making garbage games and make something worth our time to play, maybe then you would take the first step into this best category.
