Xbox 360 Dominating In Europe?

Cdemon | April 17, 2008 | News | Playstation 3 Wii
According to a Microsoft UK press statement, Xbox 360 sales have more than doubled in the European market as of late (most likely because of the recent price drop). Microsoft are also jolly about the software attach rate, which is currently more than the Wii and PS3 combined.

It's pretty surprising to see it doing so well even when it (supposedly) has such an unusually high failure rate.
Xbox 360 is the number one next-gen console in EMEA, owning 42% of the market in terms of life-to-date revenue. Xbox 360 continues to enjoy the highest software attach rate of any game console in Europe with more than 7.0 games sold per console (PS3: 3.8; Wii 3.5) after 27 months on the market.

I don't doubt it; the 360 is a great system. When I see people buy it, they almost always buy at least two games.

Well In my own experiences, this is true. All of my friends have 360 (literally all of them, including my female friends). I also walked into game and saw 4 people buying xbox's in line. But that could just be coincidence.

Title should be changed to 'Xbox maybe doing decent in Europe perhaps (RUMOR)'.

      You make a point.

Cdemon May i ask how they are dominating, considering PS3 has outsold the 360 worldwide for 3 months straight?

Read the article, silly Final Blade.
Besides, this article's title has a question mark, an important punctuation.

What are you talking about? The Xbox 360 is dominating the market in Europe and outsold the PS3 by 5k or so units in the States.

I was referring to the last 3 months, thanks for not reading my comment.

To be honest the article is full of fanboyism.

By stating a fact it's full of fanboyism? Stop acting like the police here, final. All I've seen you do is make ridiculous comments and when anyone disagrees, you just say 'good job reading my comment', as if THEY'RE the stupid ones.

I'm quite surprised by this. Don't get me wrong, I've owned all the consoles this generation and the 360 is my favourite by far but in my area the PS3 is infinitely more popular than the 360. I can name 2 or 3 people who own 360's but about 10 people who own PS3's.

Personally I think the casual players (ie, my mates) are idiots. They buy a console for football games and shooters. The logical choice would be to buy a 360, seeing as it has a ridiculous amount of shooters and both main football games are multi-platform.

I remember once one of my friends (who a PS3 would be a good choice for - he's a big Final Fantasy fan) mention FFXII in the common room.

The response by the PS3 owners?

    "Final Fantasy is gay."
