Personally, I'll only purchase CoD4's maps, especially after reading this. Even though one or two are rather 'WWII-ish' that's a treat for long-time fans of the CoD series, like me.
Halo 3's looks fun, but since they basically kept on-point to their predecessor's graphics, it's rather bland imo.
Which is why I haven't purchased neither Halo 3's nor Call of Duty 4's DLC, but it's likely I'll be getting COD4's rather soon.
They are two gaming juggernauts, in the same gaming genre, so it makes sense to me.
Like it or not (and I sure as hell do not), Halo came at the right time, and there's a reason why Halo 3 is the most sold exclusive of 2007. Personal preference, really, but I guess people (not everyone) are into the 'arcade/sci-fi' kind of shooters.
It's like FFVII for the RPG genre, Halo's become quite huge, again coming out at the right time.
Even the COD series is more deserving than the Halo series.
Halo 3 has way better game play than crysis.
