The guys over at GamesRadar.com take a crack at an on-going debate that has been waging between FPS fans: Halo 3, or Call of Duty 4? But more specifically, they compare the recently released downloadable content for both games.

Call of Duty 4 vs. Halo 3. According to our sister site, Next-Gen, these games aren't just this generation's most popular shooters. They're the two best-selling games of any genre and of any platform. How could we not pit them against each other?

Only the 360 version of CoD4 was compared, just to clarify.

Personally, I'll only purchase CoD4's maps, especially after reading this. Even though one or two are rather 'WWII-ish' that's a treat for long-time fans of the CoD series, like me.

Halo 3's looks fun, but since they basically kept on-point to their predecessor's graphics, it's rather bland imo.

For the most part I think DLC isn't such a bad idea, especially when it is made free eventually. But really, $10 just for a few extra maps is pretty steep.

Which is why I haven't purchased neither Halo 3's nor Call of Duty 4's DLC, but it's likely I'll be getting COD4's rather soon.

Why does every game have to be compared to another game?

Halo has always been the reigning champ of the FPS world, especially on the XBOX. Now that another badass has entered the ring, people want to talk about it.

They are two gaming juggernauts, in the same gaming genre, so it makes sense to me.

HAHAHAAHAH, change that to "Halo has always been the reigning champ of the FPS world, only on the XBOX that is." Yeah *bleep*ing right. There are far better FPS in the whole genre. Especially on this thing called a Personal Computer.

Yeah, better ones like Crysis! Oh wait...

Like it or not (and I sure as hell do not), Halo came at the right time, and there's a reason why Halo 3 is the most sold exclusive of 2007. Personal preference, really, but I guess people (not everyone) are into the 'arcade/sci-fi' kind of shooters.

It's like FFVII for the RPG genre, Halo's become quite huge, again coming out at the right time.

Oh gosh, what's a "personal computer"? I've played plenty of FPS's on the computer, and I stick by my earlier statement.

I'm sorry guys, but how about a big fan NEG

Even the COD series is more deserving than the Halo series.

Crysis is without a doubt the best looking First Person shooter ever Storm. No ones ever really said anything about it being the best shooter period. It's touted for it's visuals, not it's gameplay. It's gameplay is still great fun and I would prefer it over Halo any day.

Lol, are you serious? Crysis's gameplay sucked ass. It was basicly a test run for their engine.

Halo 3 has way better game play than crysis.

I personally thought the Half-Life series were better than any of the Halo games.

I dont really really think there the same genre, halo is more sci fi future stuff and call of duty 4 is more army shooter. I dont think you can compare them well.
