Even with the last PSN update last April 15, you can tell that Europe receives little love compared to North America's updates on the PSN. This disparity is one of the many reasons why the European PS3 community is growing more angry with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE).

A forum post from gamer Kung_Fu_Russ Over at the PlayStation EU discussion forums, questions SCEE for its inferior online service. According to the post, Europe almost always get the short end of the stick when it comes to PSN releases. They get things way later and many more things that really would be fair for the people in Europe to have.

It's time for Sony Europe to finally sort out their act, particularly in regards to their EU online service and store.

EU customers are getting a far inferior service to their US counterparts, and it's time for this to change.

*The store content has been repeatedly delayed, to the point where some content promised has never been released. There is evidence that some content gets handed to SCEE and is delayed for no apparent reason. The old 'localisation and translation' argument is moot. Super Puzzle Fighter was released globally on the 360, and in the US on PS3. The EU version is yet to appear. Also, are you telling me that Everyday Shooter needed translating? Are you telling me that that game needed checking to see if it met every country's ratings system? Then there are delayed patches for games which the EU gets late. We still don't have the poker webcam patch, despite the fact that it has already been submitted to SCEE weeks ago. Every week we see the EU store fall further and further behind the US one.

Every week is more reason why we should cheat and use the US store, which breaks the terms and conditions agreement, and leaves us open to all kinds of problems should something go wrong with our playstation.

Give us content at the same time as US gamers.

*The revamped store has also been grossly mismanaged for the EU. It's like SCEE took hold of what SCEA passed them, and all the functionality was ripped out. Why are images so slow to load? Why are the catagories so badly organised compared to the US store? Why can't we have video previews likey the US do? Give us the same store functionality as the US

They've already responded to this countless times.

They have to localize it for Europe. There are 23 official languages in the European Union, and they have to ready it for all of them.

Yeah that is true, but you would think they could at least get things out just a few days after the NA release and not a long wait after the NA release. =/

Seems just kind of unfair how they get almost everything last. Yes, I know it takes time to change the languages, but you would think maybe just a day or two afterwards.

That doesn't explain why we don't get the exact same PS Store revamp as the Yanks!! We got a crappy watered down version of it with half the categories in the menu the US Store recieved.

And despite all this, the PlayStation 3 continues to outsell the 360 in Europe. Interesting...

Anyways, why bother complaining? I live in the US but I have a UK, Japan, Hong Kong, and Australian account aside from my American one. It's not like they're hard to make.

That is true, but for non-free items a bit more work has to be done in order to be able to purchase from other stores. Localisation, if indeed it is causing the delays, needs to be sorted out faster.

That's because they're new to the console you dumbass. Its not like there going to know how European PSN IS HANDLED IF THEY DON'T OWN ONE.

You're the dumbass. It might be unfair in your eyes but it's all about localization. Shit doesn't get released everywhere at the same *bleep*ing time, it's the nature of the beast. That's not Sony's fault you fools.

This happens with movies, games, music, EVERYTHING. World-wide releases are rare. That's a lot of product to move and focus on at one time. Here's why it seems like you guys are getting the short end of the stick, because the internet tells you what's going on in every other part of the world. If you guys didn't know it wouldn't be a big deal. But all you guys do is read about what's going on in America and you feel left out. It's understandable to feel left out, but it's also unavoidable. It's not because the world hates Europe. It's because there's more money to be made in America. Gaming is a business, they focus on where they can make the most money. Besides, you Europeans have it easy compared to the guys in Australia. Now them I feel sorry for.

The developers/publishers choose where and when their games get released. They also decide this about their demos. Not Sony. Just because it's Sony's console doesn't mean they get to control everything with the games made on their consoles.

        Irony at its absolute best.

Good lord. You're the dumbass. Don't start throwing around slanderous remarks when you don't have a god damned clue.

Irony at its best!!! Also you don't have a fcking clue because you don't even live in Europe!

You quoted me. What the *bleep* are you talking about? Where's the irony? You fail on far too many levels for me to continue this.

I don't have to live in Europe to understand the way the world works. It doesn't always work in your favor. Deal with it. Life isn't fair. Etc etc. All those famously annoying sayings actually ring true.

I fail on too many levels? You fail on the basic level of life.

Plus, my response in the first place was to you saying "yet PS3 still outsells 360 in Europe" Which had jack all to do with the article.

Guticb - rarely do more than five or six make it onto a game disc. And, I don't know how it works, but if the content only has one language there's little reason for the US release to take so long.

Still, Sony does deliver for Europe in terms of games. We don't have Nintendo-style situations involving ridiculous waits for the actual games you buy in shops or games not being released here for no apparent reason, nor region locking (the Wii has all of those) with and I'm sure Sony is capable of sorting this out given an opportunity.

Slumpy can you stop arguing with jmac, seriously.

Anyway if you want to look at it this way, everyone is getting screwed cause Japan has more shit on the PSN than anywhere else.

Sony's handling of the PS3 in Europe has been about as clumsy as a rectal exam with a boxing glove.
