Midway have announced that there will be a sequel to the NFL Blitz franchise. There isn't that much detail available on the game yet, but you can expect it to be released on the Playstation 3 and XBOX 360.

Blitz: The League, of course, was Midway's answer to Electronic Arts securing the exclusive NFL license and rendering Madden the only football game officially sanctioned by the NFL. Midway used the opportunity to take Blitz -- now free of the NFL's need to keep up a clean image -- into the ethically shadier areas of professional football, even allowing gamers to "juice" injured players to get them back out on the field.

Considering the "win at any cost" tagline, we're guessing The League 2 will venture into similar territory. Maybe a new method of pre-game strategizing will be to secretly tape your opponent's practices? Not at all based on any actual events, mind you.
