It appears Capcom's standards have fallen in recent years, no there isn't something wrong with Devil May Cry 4 or Lost Planet. The problem seems to be with Capcom's art division working on Okami for the Wii. It appears that rather than use one of their own pictures for the boxart they have taken to plundering IGN's image vault. Sure it's small and covered pretty well but when you look closely you can see IGN's logo

No, it's not Aprils fools day - though I did have to check. The American boxart for Okami hides an embarrassing secret... Someone from Capcom took their own artwork from the game from IGN. How do we know? Well, gob smackingly, the retail boxart has a visible IGN watermark! It's possible that files have been lost in the mists of time since they closed Clover Studio down... but taking art for your own game from a website? What next? Asking customers to sign up for two shitty ID's via your own cluster*bleep* of a sign up website with an orgy of letters and numbers?

    Hahaha, that's hilarious.

And Lost Planet was utter wank tbh.

I'm sorry but I can't seem to see the 'IGN Logo' in that image...

      Haha.

Wow, Capcom guys need to learn how to smudge in Photoshop. xD

Nor can I see it to be honest, Krunal. I wish I could.

Look right by the wolf's mouth. You'll see a circle with a design in it and the letters IGN.

It's hard to make out, but if you look really hard you can kind of see it.

How someone found that, I have no idea.

Since when does IGN put their watermark in a random spot in the middle of images?

You know I saw a similar story about those Imagine DS games with their boxart being from a stock photo website and having it's watermark. I looked at the boxart in a store though and there was nothing to be found, the boxart was as clean as can be.

The background was "stolen", not the cover art. The wolf was added in separately.

But still, since when does IGN put their watermark anywhere but the corner of their images?

The watermark was in the corner of the image.
Here is the image that was apparently used for the background.

I can see it, stupid capcom. You created a whole game, is it so hard to make a box cover.

I can't see it tbh. Pretty funny though.

I don't see anything in that picture that has the IGN logo in it.

Same as this. But who cares, IGN sucks.

That's pretty funny, I can see it on the original, but the next time I go to the store I'm gonna check this one out to see if it's not just a joke T_T.

Creepy, the packshot on the capcom press site has the same logo on zoom as well. Guess they should have rechecked that one a bit more before release.

Nothing wrong with Devil May Cry 4 and Lost Planet. Hm, I must have traded them both in on a dare then.

This frankly sucks. Shame, Capcom. Shame on you!
I just couldn't believe it when I first saw this. Could it be an elaborate joke?

Wow, I just checked my box and it is surprisingly pretty obvious. IGN will be forever immortalized! Actually now that I think about it, I'll bet IGN paid off Capcom to put that subliminal message on the game cover!

So they stole a background? Big deal. I bet it happens alot more than just that once with lots of other companies. It's just that this time the artist was too stupid to remove the watermark.
