A creative take on the cooking genre (that's a genre now, right?), Cooking Navi (Shaberu! Oryōri Navi in Japan) was released a couple of years ago. More or less, it's a portable cookbook and now on it's way to Germany. The neat feature of it is it accepts commands via the microphone (such as to turn the page in a recipe). Very handy when you're in the middle of a giant batch of pupusas! Perhaps bakeries and restaurant would even adopt it.

[The game's] popularity has led to the confirmation of a Japan-exclusive sequel, and the inclusion of music from the game in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

This year, it seems that European DS owners will be able to see what all the fuss is about, as Cooking Navi has been rated for a German release by the USK under the name Cooking Course: What Shall We Cook Today?

Expect more localised recipes, and a national epidemic in the vein of the Brain Training games to ensue.
