Silent Hill V is no longer be planned to be called Silent Hill V as Konami have decided to do a minor revamp on it and adding an extra word to it. This extra words being Homecoming, to make the new named title if you haven't guessed already, Silent Hill: Homecoming!
In addition to this Konami have claimed that the horror spoof, Silent Hill: Homecoming will come arriving to Europe at the end of September for both the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
Silent Hill V is no longer called Silent Hill V. Konami's just dropped us a line to let us - and now you lot - know that it's carrying a new name. Say hello to Silent Hill: Homecoming. Sounds like the title of a dodgy 'B' horror movie.
Along with the name change, Konami's confirmed a European release date of "end of September" for the survival horror sequel that's planning to scare the casing off Xbox 360 and PS3.
Homecoming follows the tale of Alex Shepherd, returning to his hometown of Shepherd's Glen to investigate the sudden disappearance of his brother.
"Alex must survive attacks from the misshapen denizens of the town using an all-new enhanced combat system that provides a wide array of attacks and counters. Along the way, Alex will encounter a variety of weapons to battle these horrific monsters and must also solve deadly puzzles as he uncovers the darkest secrets of Silent Hill", says Konami.

What does the word "Homecoming" remind us of? Well, homecoming, or prom, or a school formal. Doesn't exactly sound scary, does it? (unless you're thinking of cheesy high school horror movies).
Why drop the "V" or the "5" though? Silent Hill 4 was still called "Silent Hill 4: The Room". It's a small niggle, but why not keep it consistent?
