Shopto.net is just one such online retailer which has started the Packaging Process, earlier today, I received an email from Game telling me that to ensure that we get the game delivered on the day of release, that they will be starting the packaging process from tommorow which will start with the Payment being taken.

"Ok, thats great news but when are you guys gonna ship?"
As predicted by myself and many others months ago, Take2 sent us a street date agreement that we have had to sign which means we cannot ship until Monday next week, this also includes an embargo on staff getting copies either paid for or free so alot of us are in same position.

When will we be charged for the game?
We are going to charge customers accounts over the weekend.

How will you guys ship the game?
As normal we will ship via royal mail first class recorded for next working day delivery (99% of the time) but please be aware that we will NOT be held accountable for local sorting offices being slow and not getting your game to you. The limited editions will be shipped via our 24 hour courier service with TNT.

I just preordered mine from shopto.com

I know a few mates who got Halo 3 a few days early from them.

I got an e-mail from GAME telling me they will send it out the day before. This means they will have to authorise my debit card early, but i don't mind

They authorise the card upon dispatch, so that's not really early at all.

Game have said they are charging early to ensure everyone who pre-ordered the game are charged in time, so the game is sent out on time.

Or at least that's what my mate said and he pre-ordered from game.

Hmm, Amazon hasn't emailed anything to me, even though the ETA would be on May 1st, I'm just hoping there's no "unforeseen" problems. Does it have to be General online retailers or Specific game retailers?

Really? My Amazon UK order has a delivery estimate of 29 April 2008. I only ordered it a fortnight ago.

That's because I used Amazon Prime's Free two day shipping offer though.

I would have definitely pre-ordered from ShopTo.net if I didn't have £158 on a GAME gift card. Ah well, 29th it is for me.

Is this just for European shops or something?

Guess so, it seems demand is higher in the UK for this game, this might be due to the US getting more copies overall.

Hehe, it's sooo much more convenient to wake up late and have Grand Theft Auto IV already waiting at your door.

Agreed. if anybody remembers San Andreas then they'll remember how the local Game retailers were so bombarded with people, it literally became impossible to do anything during those days.

I wouldn't be surprised if the same thing happened this time...if I pre-ordered GTA IV in a local Gamestop...I might as well camp outside TWO DAYS prior to release...just to be cautious.

Like i said i have bad experiences with ordering online. Besides im going to leave around 9am and that time they wouldn't be on my doorstep. Going to the store to pick it up is a better choice imo.
