Miyamato "considering what to do" with Pikmin

Shigeru Miyamoto recently commented on the rumblings about a Pikmin 3, stating Nintendo is trying to decide "what to do next with a franchise like Pikmin." With systems like the DS and Wii, the possibilities are massive, indeed.

    OMFG I LOOOVE PIKMIN.

    If one were to come out on DS I would buy it no doubt. It would actually be the first game Ive bought for my DS for like 2 years.

      I vote Wii, because I don't have a DS. BUT if it comes out on the DS, there will just be too many games I am missing out on, so I will end up getting one with Pikmin 3 and Phantom Hourglass and maybe some other ones. But then it would be better quality on the Wii, so that would be good. Really it would be great for both of them, as the Wiimote/stylus would make it much easier to control.

      Both. But if I have to pick one, I'd go with DS myself. I'm gonna start this topic in the forums.

    i bitch about their pikmin neglect on a daily basis.

    DS > Wii

    the ds would be a way better platform for a game like pikmin.

      Yeah, I could see that happening.

      Like, perhaps a Pikmin platformer where you control Pikmin instead of Olimar or some guy who controls the Pikmin.

    Yeah, that's what I was thinking, twi. They generally do that with a lot of the bigger games that come out. Assassin's Creed is an example.

    I think that they should make the game for the Wii.. but I also think they should make it for the DS.

    I just thought they should have a Wii version continuing Captain Olimar's adventures and a spin-off where he isn't included and you simply play as an (initially small) group of Pikmin with the goal of surviving, reproducing, some other goal or collection of goals to make sure the game doesn't get boring or pointless and getting back to the onion before nightfall, all the action on the bottom screen of course and a helpful map on the top screen that can be accessed with the push of the L button to quickly get to another group of Pikmin to help them instead, the only problem with this is who would throw the Pikmin to get them to a higher ledge, maybe the Purples could do the throwing.
