Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 delayed

Bale Fire | April 22, 2008 | News | Playstation 3 XBOX 360
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, the sequel to the quite successful super hero brawler has had its release date slip back to 2009 as opposed to 2008. While this is a blow, the time is apparently being spent to improve the new Spider-Man game, which means there should be more than enough Marvel for everyone.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance wasn't the best of games for the Average Joe, but for Marvel fans, it was just fine. So those types are no doubt counting down the days until the sequel's 2008 release and...oh. Says here Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 - briefly announced earlier in the year - is not coming out in 2008. It was revealed at the NYC Comic Con over the weekend that it won't be out til 2009 now.

I've had the first one for months but still haven't played it. I even have the DLC! I should get on that.

I wonder if anyone still plays online?

Which console do you have it for, Vito? I wouldn't mind going online to assist if you have the 360 version (assuming you do, DLC and all). ^^

I played the first game to death, loved it (comic-junkie here). I could care less about that new Spider-Man game, I'd rather they work on MUA2. Ah well, hope we at leat get some details on it soon.

I agree, i think MUA2 should be finished first than the spidey game. They haven't made a decent Spidey game in years.

So if you play online you can pair up with someone in your party? 2 of you can control the 4 characters?

Yeah up to 4 people can play and control the characters online, works the same way offline.

    2009 ?

I guess I can wait a bit longer. I played the first one and loved it. Deadpool kicks so much ass in this game.

Yeah, Deadpool was pretty fun. My favorite was Hawkeye, loved using the arrows.

not particularly a fan of comic books, but marvel ultimate alliance was an awesome game. too bad they flogged the flying *bleep* out of the engine with every other marvel game until it wasn't fun any more.

I would've been more impressed with Ultimate Alliance if it wasn't for the fact that I could've easily mistaken it for X Men: Legends. Gameplay was definetly still intact but there wasn't much of a difference between Next gen and Last gen versions (Or Legends for that matter). There was also the online which was utter shit, it was like playing a slideshow.

Now that the ranting is over, I am expecting some serious upgrades on the visuals, better controls, better A.I., AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, better online service.

Well i played the PS2 version so i expected the graphics and such to be what it was. I didn't think the PS3 version was the same.

But i agree they need to up everything this time.
