This would not quite be a surprise to most people, but never the less, EA has announced the next Harry Potter game to coincide with the next movie's release. Designed by EA Bright Light Studios, they claim this game to be giving the most authentic experience of all Harry Potter games.
Now I'm a very big Harry Potter fan, but if I was a fan of the games, I sure am not now. The reason? The Goblet of Fire game was quite not upto the standard. Let's see if this can be much better, shall we?
One perk : Just as usual with EA, this game will be out for almost all consoles.

Players will control the boy man wizard during his tumultuous sixth year at The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. This entails engaging in wizard duels, concocting potions, and competing in Gryffindor Quidditch tournaments. While journeying towards discovery of the identity of the Half-Blood Prince, there will also be an opportunity to make time with the ladies of Hogwarts.

For those who may be skeptical about yet another game fashioned after a movie, Scott Johnson from WB Interactive Entertainment offers some reassuring words: “Working with EA, we look forward to offering fans a compelling Harry Potter video game, one which captures the thrilling storyline and high visual quality of the movie. The adherence to the rich fiction is a trademark of this franchise and with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince fans will experience the most authentic and enjoyable game in the series to date.”

Wouldn't really call it a perk. Not unless each 'generation/type' of hardware had a different experience. If they're all pretty much the same, it just means the Next Gen games will be 'meh' as usual.

At some point (perhaps after all the movie games are don) they'll release a non Harry potter type Hogwarts game, or a Post Hogwarts game.....

Would be nice to start off as some random student or something, and learn magic in classes like you read about in the books....

Fat chance. EA really only cares about selling the games as cash cows, not as quality titles >_>

Well every Harry Potter book has pretty much had a game so this just soudns about right to have it's own game, though i soon got over these games. They got boring for me.

I played the First one on the PS1 I believe. It didn't have a CD stamp design. I tried to trade it in, they said it was a 'bootleg' >_> Someone got it from Wal-mart, I think >_>

It worked on my PS1 though >_>

I still got it around somewhere....
