Guitar Hero to become Variety-of-Instruments Hero?

Hmm... Seems like the name "Guitar Hero" wouldn't suit this game anymore. Not that it's a bad thing, of course.
Many people have speculated for a while that other instruments would make their way over to Guitar Hero, and now, the CEO of Activision says "We’ll include a lot of other instruments [and] vocals” in the future games in the series.

It’s been known for a while now that more instruments would eventually be incorporated into the Guitar Hero brand. The question is whether that means bringing drums into the mix and totally ripping off Rock Band, or creating a whole new game in the Guitar Hero universe with different toys to rock out with. The developers are currently figuring out how to move the series beyond the standard guitar and bass repertoire, as the CEO of Activision Bobby Kotick recently said, “We’ll include a lot of other instruments [and] vocals” in future installments in the franchise.

His quote leaves a lot to be desired, but I’m imagining it’s just a heads up to keep us interested for what the future may have in store. So let’s open the floor up to suggestions. Could we see a guitar/harmonica combination? What about keyboards, or god willing, cowbell!

    I think it'd be good to move on in some respects from GH..change the name and scope of it. Vocals in particular sound very exciting. Some kind of training mode within the game would be awesome!

    I wonder if there is room for 2 of these games. Rock Band and Guitar Hero co-exist pretty nicely.

    If Guitar Hero becomes as expensive as rock band is, then I dunno...

    I'd really like it if they implemented some piano/keyboard peripheral into Rock Band.

    But GH is becoming yesterdays news. Rock Band has pretty much taken over the spotlight with its 4-player instruments, online band mode, and DLC every week. Its a wise move that the GH franchise move onto other instruments, but unless they provide DLC every week like what RB does, I can't see it making much of an impact.

    Hmmmmm....A type of piano/synthesizer is an interesting idea...I doubt they could really get away with a full range, but maybe 10 keys or so? Dual handed (5 digits x 2 hands = ten keys)....

    Would they do it? Maybe....If they want to differentiate themselves from Rock Band that is....

    Either that, or Rock Band would start evolving the instrument types....Probably not, they'll likely stay with the same instruments (for forwards compatability with new Rock band software)....

    If the 'Hero' franchise wants to compete with Rock Band on it's level, than yes, they need more instruments. Guitar hero could sort of be the little bro to Rock Band's depth, if they keep it as just Guitar though. Good for those that want an 'instrument' peripheral game, without wanting to buy a full Rock band set (though you can just buy the peripherals separate with Rock Band)....

    As long as it doesn't screw up the Guitar version (the only one I care about) then there is no harm.

    Does this mean... Guitar Hero Singstar Lol.

    Well looks like guitar hero will become The Rockband Singstar Hero.
