The Rockstar founder Sam Houser has claimed that there will be a difference between the graphics for the Playstation 3 version and Xbox 360 version of Grand Theft Auto IV. He also goes onto claim that each version has there own feel and look towards the gameplay though at the same time they are both (to him) neck and neck with each other on which one will be the better.

Boston (dbTechno) - According to Rockstar founder Sam Houser, the graphics of Grand Theft Auto IV will be different on the PS3 and Xbox 360. It seems that GTA IV will have a different look to it whether you play it on the Xbox 360 or PS3. There is no word yet as to which version will be superior though in terms of visuals.

Houser stated to 1UP.com that “The 360 games have a certain look to them, PS3 games have a certain look to them.”

He stated that in his mind, they are “neck and neck.”

He did state though that “I like the way the PS3 renders. There’s a certain kind of softness without being blurry, some warmth to it.”

He praised the Xbox 360 as well though stating it has a “more clinical element.”

The bottom line is that Rockstar has admitted that “There’s a slight difference in the way they look.”

We will have to see how the versions turn out on launch day.

So I guess I was kinda wrong when I said they were going to be the same. Meh, its still not that big of a deal. Now we all have to wait for the comparison vids on the 29th from GT. >__>

This of course will lead to arguements on launch about which version looks better. I personally don't expect the graphics to outshine most of the games out. Although any improvement from the ps2 GTA's will be good enough for me =D

I couldn't care less about what the graphics look like, as long as the gameplay on both versions is up to scratch I'll be happy.

Yeah, we heard about this ages ago (OK, so maybe a couple/few weeks ago). The 360 version would have more 'vibrant' colouring, and the PS3 version would have 'warmer' colouring.

Well, this is an official confirmation of such, so that is good I suppose.

One problem with your post, the 360 Version has more warm and Vibrant Colors where as the PS3 has less Jagged edges.

Anyway The superior version is.......None. Since they have there own feel none is going to be better. So with that i said good. The only thing that will separate them is DLC. Which then yeah the 360 version will be superior.

One problem with your post, you're wrong. Vibrant is the exact opposite of warm, in regards to the color wheel. One version can't have both. The PS3 has warmer colors.

Well that's interesting i have to say, aslong as it's the same base for a game i won't care.

Whichever console you own will be the one it looks better on. Watch out for fanboy battles once the game comes out.

I'm sure that when I'm pumping the 10th round into someones head I'll take notice of that soft environmental touch as the last bit of brain hits my character and leaves ever so gentle a splat.

Actually I probably wont, I'm pretty sure after dealing with GTA on the PC since the original in DOS I wont really be focusing on how smooth it rolls along. The fact that I'm in a new environment making hell is probably all I'll care for.

I could really care less if the graphics are not superb. Grand Theft Auto has NEVER been about graphics, or looking great in texture and all that. Sure it's nice to have great graphics now, but will true GTA fans really care so much? I guess they will.
