Japan's Month of Why Do They Get All the Good Things reaches an end, with the Japanese Virtual Console getting the most celebrated release of the month, in a four game update.
That game? Akumajou Dracula X: Chi no Rondo, better known as Dracula X: Rondo of Blood/Castlevania: Rondo of Blood, for the PC Engine Super CD-ROM. The game is highly praised by many, and finally saw its first release in the United States as a part of Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for the PSP.
One of the three other games to release with Rondo of Blood is fifth installment of the Herakles no Eikou/Glory of Herakles series, Herakles no Eikou IV, for the Super Famicom. It is a RPG, with an ancient Greek setting. A new Herakles no Eikou game is currently under development for the Nintendo DS.

The third game in the update is Phelios, for the Sega Mega Drive. It is a vertically-scrolling shoot-em-up, that is lightly based off Greek mythology, starring Apollo, in a quest to save Artemis.
Last but not least is the original Metal Slug for the Neo-Geo. The first game in the Metal Slug series, this game sets the trend for its sequels to come, providing fun run-and-gun gameplay. This is also available in the Metal Slug Anthology compilation for the Wii, PS2 and PSP.
