Well finally someone has come along to straighten up the Grand Theft Auto IV argument on how it'll be better on this system and so on. He has supposedly played it on both system for hours and says that they are perfectly equal and to make your decision on which system to get it on, simply go with the system on which your friends will be playing online with.
Multiple comments and rumors are circulating around the internet that involve people arguing about which console will have the better version of Grand Theft Auto IV. Comments made by Adriaan on the website yesterday were blown way out of proportion. Both versions of the game offer an unparalleled experience. Both versions offer superior graphics. Both versions will have excellent online capabilities. After playing both versions for hours myself, I can attest to this.

I hate garbage like this submitted to gamegrep. Just hate it. I'm so tired of all the stupid GTA4 articles that have been submitted in the last 24 hours too. It's sickening.
If you don't like articles like these...how about not reading them? It's like a newspaper. There's a section that you dislike or avoid, it's that simple. Yes the GTAIV articles have been overwhelming, but it's recent articles and may contain information that people are unaware of. It's the more 'popular' news apparently. Happens with most hyped games. If you hate it so much, start up your own 'gaming news site.'
And why the need to call names and judge people like you're better? Give it a rest and let them live how they want to. I don't know who died and made you king, jmac, but that attitude, check it at the door. You sure are arguing as if you cared a lot about this...do you?
It's garbage. This brings nothing useful or new to the table. It's absolutely worthless. I want GameGrep to be productive.

Have you read the article, though? It's about the fans battling between which console GTA IV will be better on. This gamer played both, and in an attempt to mend this mindless bickering, posted his thoughts on both console versions.
After the massacre that we've had ourselves here at GameGrep (ie Microsoft trashes PS3 version of GTA), I honestly think this is useful news.
And honestly, how do you expect to make GG productive with that attitude? Calling people children, bleepheads or whatever isn't the best way to go about things.

How am I helping GG be more productive? By weeding out the garbage, I'm not cursing at the people that are helping the community, I'm cursing at the ones that don't add a damn thing to this community and if were gone we would lose nothing. News is news, and though this doesn't seem like news to you, this is the first we've had of someone playing both versions of the game and giving a reaction...but you really wouldn't know now would you, you didn't even bother reading the article.
Please direct me to more 'garbage articles.' Something tells me that not everyone would beleive it's a 'garbage article,' and those are the people that you'd call imbeciles. It's hilarious, actually. Just because someone, of a different society and such, finds something interesting (that you don't), doesn't make them stupid.
He would have written this article either which way. Why? Because it's as I've mentioned already, it's a highly anticipated game. Highly anticipated...this happened on GameGrep with Brawl, it will likely happen with MGS4, Gears 2, anything.
It should be classified under 'hyped news,' and looking at that, I can see where you are coming from jmac, it's a bit much for one game, but there's different kinds of people here, and how they interpret and take things are not the same as how you do...that should be obvious, yet you still argue.
Look, the article sheds some light for the rabid console fans out there, you'd can agree to that, right? It says that the games are practically the same. I mean, those fans have already made up their minds, and are quite close-minded in a sense, but again, going back to how different we are...we just need to accept them. It's not the best of news, I agree, but meh, some people would be interested to know about this. That's what matters in the long run. It appeals to some people, not all, clearly.

You couldn't be more wrong. You have no idea where I'm coming from clearly. It's not about this single game. It's about gaming all encompassingly /hedberg reference. It's about the fact that no one should ever need an article written for them about which version to get when the choice is so clear. All this article does is state the obvious, there's no review here.

Going back to that comment, you're right. Take your own advice here. Do you really think this negativeness will get it's point across? All it does is anger people. This won't change anything, or stop anything, at least not the way you're going about it.
Can't you report articles? I'm sure that feature is there at the top for everyone who goes into one. And if you're so strong about this, then seriously, create your own gaming news site, run it your way. We follow guidelines to approving and such, yes, we don't necesarrily hand-pick ones that us as an individual don't like or are not interested in.
You seem like you have all the answers, jmac, but tough luck, people are different. There's not really a right way to go about things universally. Get real. It's not as clear to people as you may come to believe. You may find it ridiculous, but if you just open your eyes and put yourself in other's shoes, you can try to see why they'd need an article such as this. I too had trouble deciding which console to get this game for, and though I didn't need this article to make a final decision, some members do. Sounds stupid? Of course it does, but that's just how some members are...I don't see what the big deal is, frankly. Sometimes, the "obvious" needs to be stated to us, because we lose sight of it at times. No one's perfect.
I'll just end with this...read a book by Plato: The Republic.
This is not 'useful news' as you have put it. It's the same story rebadged with a new 'guy' narrating from a slightly different point of view which adds nothing but crud to the GTA4 onslaught of crap news.
This is why he's venting here. A report system is anonymous and hidden from public, which does not help in the example above. I'm sure someone will come in (if not yourself) and criticise me for being so critical of the system, but it's the truth.
I know it's not the most critical kind of news out there, but if GameGrep were all about the 'critical news,' well expect updates once a month, and a dead zone. It would be more upfront news, yes, but 'Social Game News' doesn't sound much like that. This news isn't helpful to most of us, that's correct, but I can see how it's necessary judging from the recent 'console war' blowout here. Meh...this can better be explained by the one who submitted the article and the one who approved it. They will likely have a better explanation, I'm just taking guesses.

But in all seriousness, what you have to do is buy the game for the console you won. If you have both, buy it for the console you use more often. (If you use both consoles at all times like mad, then I suggest you buy it for both.
Anyway it's nice to hear that this debate has possibly finally come to a close. Both games run the same on both consoles so all it comes down to is what a person wants to play it on. Although I guess this will kinda give the 360 fanboy community ammo to say "get it on the 360, WE GOT DLC".

I know jmac's right, was just trying to give a reason as to why this was submitted/approved. They weren't good reasons, but it was the best I could come up with under my circumstances.
It was pretty obvious they were going to be the same despite of the stupid 'warm colors' comparisons and other minor differences.
Storm whether or not he played both makes no difference. People shouldn't rely on someone else's word which one to choose. If you didn't know which one you were going to choose before this even showed up than you don't really want this game. Its painfully obvious which one your going to get. Besides you stated many times that your getting the 360 version cause of the DLC, did this Article really show anything that we really didn't know?

You're jumping to conclusions, simple as that. Look at Devil May Cry 4...going into it, I did not know which console to get it for, that is until I entered the store and they only had the PS3 version left. Made no difference to me. It's not that I didn't want it, I really did, it just wasn't easy to decide...why? It was practically the same, didn't know which would be better suited for me. Hell I looked at a 360/PS3 comparison here and couldn't make out a major difference.
And you're wrong, it's not just for the DLC that I'm getting the 360 version, I'm getting that version also because most of my XBL friends are getting it and want to get some good Multiplayer in.
From this article, I did not know that they were graphically the same. Yes this article is a terrible, pretty useless one, certainly would have been better if R* weren't so strict on the gameplay videos, but meh, to each his/her own.
What's obvious to you may not be well caught on with others. Some people lose sight of the 'common sense' in things, and need to be reminded.
Again, I know this article is useless, and the only reason I was discussing it with jmac was to try and see if there's any use to the news...but that's up to the submitter/approver now. And come on, after that crazy blowout in the other GTA IV articles, maybe this will open their eyes, who knows? Its obvious im going to choose PS3 version, cause i could give a rats butt about the DLC it isn't important for me, i can't stress this enough and people bash me for it.
And i already have a PS3 so thats a given. Its been stated tons of times By Rockstar that they're both the same, so the only other reason to buy the 360 version is DLC, or as you put it which consoles has more friends on it.
But that too was painfully obvious. This article does nothing but clutter GG with news everyone should know. Everyone who posts on GG are from Neoseeker who already know about the game. So why allow a BS article stating the obvious make things any different?
People rely on other things when it should be them relying on those simple facts i shared above.

Also this doesn't stop no flame wars over version, cause people will still say "Haha we got DLC with new islands you don't, your version sucks". Its a vicious cycle that will never end. Also don't use funny in place of the whole meaning of this article. If you visited the GTA4 forum you would know this is obvious hell any game verses game like DMC4 or Burnout Paradise are equal. Multiplayer games now are equal. This has been known since January. There was an article about it.

Also, every multiplatform game is now equal? Are you kidding? Let's look at The Orange Box, shall we? Wasn't there something wrong with the PSN Team Fortress 2? Crashes and whatever? And Assassin's Creed, 360's version had more noticeable contrast to it than the PS3 version.
That 'funny' comparison thing had nothing to do with the article...that was just to use an example...what's obvious to you may not be obvious to others. The article fit the guidelines for the most part, this isn't some biased gaming new site to my knowledge, where we hand-pick which should be approved and which shouldn't...yes the article is an 'obvious' one, but again it can help people, even the 'fanboys.' You don't know if it can or can't though, yet you're saying it can't as if it were fact.

As for the multiplayer I was talking about the article in January. Ever Multiplayer game in the New year, 08, has been nearly if not exactly identical. That was my point. I don't care about any of those listed cause it wasn't pertaining to my point about that article, in January. List any Current Multiplayer from January to now that isn't the same?
