A new Crash Bandicoot game called Mind Over Mutant will be coming out for the 360. It'll also be released on the PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Nintendo DS and Xbox 360, but NOT on the PlayStation 3.

Many believe that the Crash Bandicoot series of platform games lost basically all of its original charm and quality when creator Naughty Dog sold off the rights of the franchise. Now, the character that was once seen as a stalwart Sony mascot graces every platform available on quite a regular basis, with the Bandicoot’s reputation being tarnished considerably by some under-par performances in recent years. However, Vivendi and Sierra are hoping that with ‘Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant’, the furry creature will regain his some of his former glory.

Originally thought to be nothing more than an elaborate hoax floating around the Internet, the ‘rumour’ of ‘Crash Bandicoot: Mind Over Mutant’ has actually today been confirmed as being the truth. It was always an inevitability that Crash would turn up again for another adventure, but the question had to be just when would Vivendi lift the lid on the new title (and, most likely, the new Spyro outing). Well, not the lid has firmly been lifted for the company as the official Press Release has been leaked and screenshots have appeared on the Crash Bandicoot web page.

Well good for him...them...whatever. Good to see Crash making another outing. For the kiddies. Unfortunately almost all of Crash's original fans (like me) are ashamed to see what has become of him. CTR was the last great Crash game and ever since its been a downhill plummet and hasn't seem to of hit rock bottom yet. Same goes for Spyro, but I won't even go there. Vivendi sure puts a sour taste in my mouth now whenever I hear about a new Crash game. Hope the kids enjoy it though.

I loved Crash into oblivion. His last great game was Nitro kart as far as I can tell. Wrath or Cortex and Nitro Kart were his only two decent PS2 adventures. Every crash game on the PS1 had me hooked for over a year on every occasion, no exagguration. To the point where I just completed Crash Team Racing in about an hour and half a couple of days back.
