Let the rumour whoring begin. Apparently Bungie and Microsoft have patched things up and now a new Halo game is in production. It is expected that the game will act as a prequel to the highly successful Halo trilogy of games.

Following Bungie's split from Microsoft, it looked like it was over for both the Halo developer and their corpse-humping shooter for a while, but according to the latest round of magazine rumours a new Halo is already well underway (we can hear the hype machine being prepped already).

According to US mag Electronic Gaming Monthly, Bungie's already prepping a Halo spin-off for release in late 2009.

Supposedly, it's a third-person "action/adventure shooter hybrid," that takes place before the original Halo, and chronicles early skirmishes between the ODST and the Covenant.

They never fell out with MS. They stated that they thank MS alot for getting halo were it is, and how they respected bungie. They just wanted to split so they could breath easy for abit. They have stated that they wont make any more halos but will continue the halo universe and stay 360 exclusive.

This is probably alluding to Halo wars more than anything. For all we know that could be the prequel. Either way not really news.

It is a report of a rumor Final blade. Besides it seems to state that it is a prequel to the shooters, not to the RTS.

However since they aren't making any more halo main story(stated above by slumpy), and its been stated that already this isn't really news.

The only thing this could probably be talking about is Halo Wars.

There has not been an RTS. Apparently, the prequel, Halo Wars, will be an RTS. So the prequel to the shooters is an RTS.
