Miyamoto to gamers: get outside!

chautemoc | April 28, 2008 | News | Wii
In an interview with the Times Online, Wii Fit designer Shigeru Miyamoto said people should strike a healthy balance between outdoor activity with their gaming habit. Well, maybe if you stopped making your games so awesome, Shiggy, we'd think about it.
“Spending too long, staying in and playing any video game is not good,” said Miyamoto. “I always tell my children to get out on a sunny day and I, myself, went jogging in Central Park yesterday. But I do my stretching on Wii Fit. They work together.”

If Miyamoto says to do it, then I might just take my fitness more seriously.

WHAT! LMAO this picture on the article is funny.
But honestly i have a suggestion Miyamotto come up with something awesome for Wii fit, and not something to weigh our pets, and then i'll consider your suggestion.

Eh? Something awesome for Wii Fit? Are you suggesting that Wii Fit doesn't do what it is meant to do very well? From what I have heard, it does what it is meant to do brilliantly.

As for Miyamoto, it's nice of him to be concerned with the health of todays gamers, but I think that people should be less concerned with the health of console gamers, and more concerned with the addicts of games such as WoW and Runescape.

Read the rest after that, i said he needs to come up with something better than a device to weigh our pets, when scales do that fine.
Thats all, im not saying Wii fit sucks just a new addition.

It was actually said by Miyamoto himself that Wii Fit is not meant to make you fit, it may help but it's hardly going to turn your life around.

Maybe he should get outside, doubtlessly he spends more time working in the office then we spend playing games

I swear, people think that Wii Fit is the holy grail to their problems, just 'cause they have an extra peripheral hanging onto them while they do aerobic-esque routines.
